The cover art of the game does not only have to be pleasing to the eye so the buyer is interested in it at first sight, but it also has to be detailed enough so it conveys what you will be doing in the game because when the buyer is interested in the game, they will examine the cover from top to bottom to make sure that this game is the right one for the buyer to buy. That is why the video game cover needs to be good but also detailed and complex and not too simple.
